Two goalkeeping errors at opposite ends of the pitch settled saw Poland and Greece play out a 1-1 draw in Friday's opening Group A game of Euro 2012.
Co-hosts Poland took the lead in the first half when Jakub Blaszczykowski floated in the perfect cross for Borussia Dortmund team-mate Robert Lewandowski to score.
However, an error in judgement from Wojciech Szczesny allowed Greek substitute Dimitrios Salpingidis to nip in and equalise, before the Arsenal goalkeeper received his marching orders for a last-man challenge on the PAOK man.
Greece captain Giorgios Karagounis stepped up to the plate, only to see his penalty saved by replacement goalkeeper Przemysław Tyton as the co-hosts held on for a valuable point.
